weaves debut video for "one more" on vevo & fader

Weaves have returned with a video for lead album single “One More”. Morgan Waters tells FADER about the video he shot in the desert of Rock City, New Mexico while the band was on tour with Sunflower Bean:

“We're Canadians so we had to get to know the desert the old fashioned way: with pom poms and a video camera. I filmed Jasmyn from the back of the van as we both yelled at Spencer to drive the right speed while Zach did playback and offered moral support. We smelled burning and assumed it was the smell of America but the mechanic told us the emergency brake was stuck.”

Bad channels celebrate 420 by debuting "starS" on fader

Fresh off producing the beat for Antwon’s  “Girl, Flex”, Bad Channels return with their latest dark pop masterpiece “Stars”. This spring sees the band embarking on an Ontario tour in anticipation of their debut full–length out this fall on BUZZ.

Nick Grottick tells FADER:
“With Stars we were really just trying to make a Gundam Wing style theme for our own boring lives. Since most anime we're into seems to be about ridiculously well-dressed teenagers that drive cool motorcycles and/or giant robots, it made sense to write about our own lives as if we were badass teenagers living in a futuristic dystopian sprawl.”

casper skulls join buzz & share "mink coats" on stereogum

We are thrilled to announce that Casper Skulls have joined the BUZZ fam! Formed a little under a year ago they have rapidly built a reputation as one of the most exciting new bands in the city. Following an early self-released 7 inch and a Canadian tour supporting Solids and the Dirty Nil, the band have began working with producers Josh Korody (Fucked Up, Dilly Dally, Weaves) and Shehzaad Jiwani of Greys on an EP slated for release on Buzz in the Fall.

Vocalist Neil Bednis addresses issues of political corruption in “Mink Coats”, he tells Stereogum:
"I started writing the song in early 2014 before Casper Skulls was a band and it was inspired by the Rob Ford fiasco that was happening at that time. Although that time has come and gone with Mr. Ford, the song's sentiment still holds true for other ludicrous power-hungry politicians. As long as politics exist, so will corruption and lies."
